Terms of Service

Last updated August 25, 2026

These are the terms for using this website and for selling us a vehicle. Using the site means you accept them.

How a quote works

A number we give you over the phone or by message is based on what you tell us about the vehicle. It holds if the car is as you described it when our driver arrives.

If the car turns out to be materially different from the description, for example a part is missing that you told us was there, the number can change and you are free to walk away at that point. Nothing is owed either way until you accept the payment.

Towing is free on every pickup we agree to, and it is never taken back out of your offer as a deduction.

What you confirm when you sell us a vehicle

By selling us a vehicle you confirm that you own it or are entitled to sell it, that there is no undisclosed lender claim on it, and that any personal belongings have been removed before collection.

You are responsible for taking your plates off before the vehicle is loaded.

If it later turns out the vehicle was not yours to sell, you are responsible for what follows from that.

The guides on this site are information, not legal advice

The articles published here describe how vehicle paperwork generally works in Illinois. They are written carefully and kept up to date, but they are general information about common situations, not advice about yours.

Rules change, and an unusual case can turn on a detail no article covers. For anything that matters, check with the Illinois Secretary of State or a qualified professional before you act. We are not responsible for a decision made only on the basis of something you read here.

Using this website

You may read, print and share these pages. You may not copy the content to republish it as your own.

We keep the site accurate and available, but we cannot promise it is never wrong and never down.

Limits

Our responsibility in connection with this website or a vehicle sale is limited to the amount of the transaction itself. We are not responsible for indirect losses, such as time off work or the cost of alternative transport.

Nothing here limits anything that cannot be limited by law.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Illinois.

Changes

We can update these terms. The date at the top tells you when they last changed, and the version on this page is the one that applies.
